What will my student be learning in math?
Your student will learn math in a classroom that is uniquely tailored to their current level. The instruction may look different—they might be having so much fun they don’t even realize they’re doing math—but the curriculum goals are consistent with the school year. Math instruction is based on City Schools math curriculum, and specific content is identified for each grade level to ensure that students maintain what they have learned in math during the school year and return to school prepared to succeed in the fall.
Data from the program in Summer 2017 shows that 84% of students gained math knowledge within the program. Upon returning to school in fall, students in the SALA program lost significantly less ground on their I-Ready math assessment than other students in the district who did not attend the program.
