Produced by 3rd through 5th-grade film arts majors at Wildwood Elementary Middle School in West Baltimore during our 2019 Summer Academy (SALA) with Root Branch Film, What's the Problem identifies issues in the community and encourages others to start seeing and thinking—and looking for solutions.

Documentary Filmmaking at SALA

Arts integration transforms learning for our Summer Academy students. In our 2018 Academy at Edgecombe Circle Elementary, students worked with filmmaker Vonnya Pettigrew of Root Branch Productions to create this documentary about the program.

This class from our 2017 Summer Academy at Gardenville Elementary worked with teaching artist Ras Tre to create a video demystifying improper fractions and adding fractions with different denominators.
