Theme-based Residency

Teaching Artist Caroline Ferrante guides students through an exciting educational journey where they will explore diverse animal habitats as they dive into the pages of the book Welcome Home, Bear by Il Sung Na. This literary adventure will open their eyes to the fascinating worlds in which various creatures call home. Following Bear’s experiences, they’ll learn about animals’ challenges and adaptations in their natural environments.

About Theme-based Residencies

Theme-based residencies are a series of five student-centered workshops focused on creating engaging, interactive arts-focused or arts-integrated experiences for children in PreK and Kindergarten. Each residency starts with either a “kickoff” assembly or an interactive workshop and culminates in an event where children share what they learned. Pricing starts at $2,300 + mileage. We may be able to assist you in securing grant and funding opportunities.

Program Length 5 sessions

Technical Requirements

10’ x 10’ clear area
Access to performance area 1 hour before set up
The artist will provide a sound system for audiences of over 50 people or for large rooms/gyms
The artist will need a power outlet to plug in the sound system
The room needs to have blinds or the ability to block the light at least partially
The artist will be in communication about additional technical requirements specific to the program
