Watch Out: Sight and Sounds of African Percussion Instruments

Program Type

Participants take an imaginary trip to visit the queen mother of an African village and explore the sights and sounds of various traditional percussion instruments while experiencing the “djembe-storytelling” tradition. This highly energetic and interactive experience involves a lot of role-play, singing, drumming, and dance movements!

Program Length 30 minutes

Technical Requirements

10’ x 10’ clear area
Access to performance area 1 hour before set up
The artist will provide a sound system for audiences of over 50 people or for large rooms/gyms
The artist will need a power outlet to plug in the sound system
The room needs to have blinds or the ability to block the light at least partially
The artist will be in communication about additional technical requirements specific to the program
