Students are transported into a spoken word venue called “The Poetry Spot” where they experience what it’s like to be an audience member witnessing a featured performer showcasing original works. Students will learn what it means to “respect the mic” and the art of call and response while witnessing Mr. Word’s journey as a writer and performer focusing on concepts of love, family, creative influence, emotional management, resilience, and self love.
