Artist
Caroline Ferrante
Program Type
Assembly / Performance
Caroline Ferrante, an Arts for Learning Teaching Artist, will guide children on an exciting journey to uncover the wonders of four remarkable Chesapeake Bay animals: the turtle, lynx, oyster, and black bear. During this engaging workshop, children will learn about the unique strengths of each animal and discover how these qualities relate to important social-emotional skills. Using the captivating techniques of Native American storytelling, incorporating drama, dance, and song, children will forge a deep connection with the animals in their own neighborhoods. They will also gain insights into how these connections can help develop essential social-emotional skills applicable to their everyday interactions. Throughout the assembly, students will actively participate in seated and non-locomotor movement-led stories and songs, making learning a fun and interactive experience.
