When asked what was most valuable about our training, participants shared…
"I am energized by this training and I feel like I’ve grown leaps and bounds in such a short amount of time!!! Thank you!!"
"This program has been exactly what I needed to restore my energy as an artist. THANK YOU!!!"
"The training has had quite an impact on my work in the classroom. I am exploring new mindfulness techniques and new classroom management techniques. I have been implementing new techniques shared during training. For example; I have been expressing compassion in new ways with students towards the different perspectives and experiences they have in life and in the classroom. This has led to a calmer and more attentive classroom."
"This training has been inspiring, informative, funny and invigorating. The influence of the training is already showing in my growth and success as a teaching artist for which I will be forever grateful."
"Thank you! So appreciate all you put into these sessions, and being together with teachers and teaching artists to share and model skills, experiences, and ideas."
"You reminded me of my worth as a teacher and that I can have fun!!! I am energized by this training and I feel like I’ve grown leaps and bounds in such a short amount of time!!! Thank you!!"
"An open and supportive community of artist/teachers modeling a way of living those ideals in the classroom."
"Seeing teacher pairs in action! All the examples and different styles of teaching was so so helpful. The mindful moments and journaling at the beginning and end of the sessions were also so amazing."
“This training gave me newfound confidence to call myself a 'teaching artist'!!!”
“The training has enriched my experience as an educator and artist in many ways. I'm more confident, knowledgeable, patient, skilled, and most of all I'm excited to take on the challenge and opportunity of being at SALA and to meet and engage with my students.”
“For me, the connection to this community has been priceless. What we shared as a collective, both live and virtual, sits in my own sense of self as a forward thinking force. I need more practice in the planning, but my ideas and how I see others in the grand scheme of things has been influenced exponentially. There is so much to appreciate both in realizing what I bring to the table, and how the tables are constantly being turned.”
